The immune system helps to protect the body from harmful pathogens and other environmental risk factors.
If the immune system of an individual is weak he will be more prone to various illnesses both communicable and non-communicable.
Different factors weaken the immune system such as :
Poor health conditions of mother and father may impact the immune system of the new one.
1. Recurrent infections and delayed recovery such as cold, cough, and flu. Commonly, everybody has 2-3 episodes of flu in a year and recovers in 7-10 days. However, frequent attacks and longer recovery times may indicate a weak immune system.
2. Poor digestive system is another sign of a weak immune system, with frequent diarrhea, constipation, and bloating being symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
3. Delayed wound healing: If the immune system is weak, wounds take longer to heal, leading to inflammation and increased risk of infection.
4. Fatigue: Chronic fatigue is another symptom of a poor immune system.
5. Autoimmune Disease: In autoimmune disorders, the immune system mistakenly attacks its cells. When the immune system is weak, it may have low activity or become overactive. This is happening with vaccinations where we forcefully activate the immune system, resulting in an increase in autoimmune diseases.
6. Delayed Growth and Development: Children with poor immunity often experience poor growth and development.
Cool feet and hands are another sign of poor circulation of blood due to poor immunity.
7. Chronic inflammation: Long-term inflammation is often due to a weak immune system. Chronic inflammation can cause many diseases such as cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and fatty liver disease.
Above are the few symptoms that can help us to assess that the immune system is not working properly.
